The Boston Celtics held off a spirited comeback attempt from the Dallas Mavericks to win Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals 106-98 and take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jaylen Brown added 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Marcus Smart contributed 18 points and 7 assists.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points and 8 rebounds.

The Celtics got off to a strong start, taking a 13-6 lead early in the first quarter. The Mavericks fought back to tie the game at 25-25 at the end of the first quarter.

The Celtics extended their lead to 10 points in the second quarter, but the Mavericks cut it to 5 points at halftime.

The Celtics increased their lead to 15 points in the third quarter, but the Mavericks again cut it to 5 points at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks made a run and cut the Celtics' lead to just 3 points with 3 minutes remaining. However, the Celtics hit some big shots down the stretch and held on for the win.

The Mavericks will host the Celtics in Game 4 on Friday, June 11.
